Frequently asked questions
What is mediation?
Mediation is a confidential, structured conversation led by a trained mediator to help people reach agreements without going to court. We focus on family mediation, helping you to resolve issues relating to separation or divorce.
How is mediation different from going to court?
Mediation is faster, more affordable, and less stressful than court. It allows you to keep control of decisions and focus on solutions that work for everyone involved.
Is mediation the same as legal advice?
No. Our mediators are neutral and don’t take sides. We can explain the legal process and help you explore your options, but we don’t give legal advice or represent either person.
What issues can be discussed in mediation?
We support clients with parenting arrangements, separation and divorce, finances, property, inheritance disputes, and more.
Will you try and get us back together?
No. Mediation is not reconciliation. It’s designed to help people move forward with dignity and clarity—whether that means separating peacefully, agreeing on parenting arrangements, or resolving a specific dispute.
Can we use mediation after divorce or separation is finalised?
Yes. Mediation can still help if new issues arise later—especially around co-parenting or financial arrangements.
